The LG G3 for T-Mobile has still not received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. The carrier's update page for LG's flagship doesn't show the available of any new updates. However T-Mobile users can now update their LG G3 to Android 5.0.1 using the LG mobile support tool.

However T-Mobile users can now update their LG G3 to Android 5.0.1 using the LG mobile support tool.Using this tool allows you to update your handset to the latest version of Android directly from the manufacturer, without having to wait for T-Mobile to rollout the update.
In order to update your LG G3 for T-Mobile, download and install the LG Mobile Support tool. Run it and click on Software Update. If you see a notice that your software is up to date, you will have to click on options and then upgrade recovery. This will install Android 5.0.1 on your LG G3.
Keep in mind that this is not the official way of installing Lollipop on your LG G3, and it is always recommended that you wait for T-Mobile to rollout the update OTA (over-the-air) to your device. However if you are impatient and confident with using the tool, you can get the update ahead of the others. Its important to make sure you have your data backed up incase something goes wrong.

The LG G3 for AT&T (D850) is receiving a software update which us around 163MB in size and brings the KVT49L.D85010f software version with a few new features and improvements. The changelog follows after the break.
The update will arrive OTA (over-the-air) and will bring the following new features and improvements:
- "No power on" Fix via Qualcomms patch
- GMS (Google Mobile Service) update
- Google Security Patches
- Stability improvements

LG G3 starts receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop software update
While the general opinion is that Google's Nexus line up will be the first to receive Android updates, it looks like LG has beaten them in getting the update to the latest version of Android, as it has just started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop for the LG G3.
The update roll-out will begin in Poland, followed shortly by other key markets. The carrier branded variants in the United States will also get a go at Lollipop, and we hope the carriers wont take too long to approve the update.
Motorola is also reportedly soak testing Android Lollipop for its Moto X 2014, which makes it likely that two non-Nexus devices will be updated to Android 5.0 before devices like the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013). Lets hope Google manages to get their act together and get those Lollipop updates rolling or they may not have a single Nexus customer next year.

The Apple iPhone 6 Plus broke Apple's historical pattern of building small size devices when it was unveiled with its massive 5.5 inch display. Obviously competitors have crossed this display size already, so lets compare Apple's flagship with the LG G3 and see how they stack up.
The LG G3 is a beast of a device with a 5.5 inch Quad HD display, a 13 megapixel OIS camera, a 3000mAh battery and quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor. Interestingly Apple's iPhone 6 Plus is significantly larger in size despite having the same 5.5 inch display size. While it is taller and heavier than LG's flagship, the iPhone is slimmer at 7.1 mm compared to the 8.9mm thick LG G3.
While the Apple supposedly has the more premium material with its aluminum frame, the polycarbonate body of the LG G3 has a visually metallic finish which makes it look extremly beautiful and it has not faced the famous #bendgate issues Apple's large iPhone has recently come to be known for.
While the LG G3 has the better camera on paper, the iPhone 6 Plus is known to perform better when put to the test. The LG G3, on the other hand, can almost pass for a large smartphone, not a phablet, thanks to its compact dimensions, and its Quad HD screen is a beauty if you can find content suited for it. Despite that high pixel density, the LG G3 also essentially ties with the iPhone 6 Plus in terms of battery life – an important stalemate for it, as that could have easily decided the face-off.
If picking is still hard, you could consider your ecosystem of choice. Apple's iOS performs smoothly and day-to-day tasks and apps are a pleasure to use on the iPhone 6 Plus. While LG has done an amazing job with their themed Android version, the bulk of apps on Android may feel a little slower to the end user. At the end of the day the most important deciding factor may be the price, as the LG G3 is now a significantly cheaper that the iPhone 6 Plus.

LG has added all the hardware they could think of into the G3, including a humongous 5.5 inch Quad HD display with a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. The device also offers a more flexible design with a removable battery and expandable storage. LG has also outfitted their flagship with a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, which is one of the most powerful chips in the market.
When it comes to photography, both the iPhone 5s and the LG G3 prove capable and high end, but the LG etches forward with its 4K video capture and the advantage of optical image stabilization on its camera.
But Apple's flagship is no slouch either. It offers a stellar performance, a Touch ID fingerprint sensor and a beautifully crafted steel-and-glass design which is more premium. Apple's display though smaller is much better suited than LG's in outdoor conditions, under direct sunlight.
When it comes to performance, the 64-bit A7 is optimized very well for powering the smooth iOS interface, while the G3 stutters at times, but offers way more features out of the box, including split-screen multitasking.

The LG G3 is an amazing device in all aspects with a beautiful design and powerful hardware. It starts by being the first device to be truly global and also one of the first smartphones to feature a QHD (1440x2560) resolution display. But how does it compare against one of the established top names, the Samsung Galaxy S5
While the Galaxy S5 display may not match that found on the G3, the phone still brings a lot to the table. For example you get an outstanding 16MP camera along with several value added features like water-and-dust resistance, a fingerprint scanner and a heart rate monitor.
At the end of the day, LG has done an amazing job designing the G3, which will clearly outshine the plastic look on the Galaxy S5. However the water-and-dust resistance offered by Samsung's flagship is hard to look past if you have a history of dropping phones where they don't belong.
While the LG G3 does boast the superior display on paper, it is not perfectly-suited for use outdoors, and, despite the extra resolution, you'll be hard-pressed to perceive a difference in clarity. Additionally the higher resolution display will take a toll on the G3's hardware when it comes to performance. Still LG has done an amazing job with battery optimization, while results in the G3 outlasting the Galaxy S5 battery, even with its power hungry display.

But will its premium look match up against one of its most beautifully designed competitors, the HTC One M8?. Lets find out
The LG G3 does have several advantages over the One M8, but HTC has a well rounded device overall. While the G3 commands a larger, higher pixel density display, HTC's smartphone offers better outdoor visibility. Also you will find the M8 is much easier to hold and manipulate in one hand than LG's offering. The HTC One M8 also offers the better sound output and call quality which are very useful features to smartphone users.
On the other hand, LG gets the advantage when it comes to the camera and battery life. The 13MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization provides much better results in its photos and videos when compared to the 4MP Duo-camera setup on the One M8.
When it comes to performance, both smartphones should be equally matched up. Both have the same processors, but the G3 offers 3GB of RAM, compared to the 2GB of One M8. The LG G3 was released as the successor to the company's popular LG G2, and set to take on devices like the Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8 and the Sony Xperia Z2. With a Quad HD display, a great body to screen ratio, a laser focus camera and a gorgeous design, the G3 hopes to win the hearts of its customers as the best phone of 2014.
The LG G3 is clearly the most technologically advanced smartphone at this point. In terms of its design, the G3 doesn't only offer a great screen-to-body ratio, but it also offers an elegant design. Its 5.5 inch display with its Quad HD resolution can be quite imposing, but we cant help but wonder if a 1080p resolutions would have been more than adequate. Especially when LG could have focussed in more important aspects such as performance and outdoor visibility instead.
The camera on the LG G3 continues its trend from LG, offering even better experience than its predecessor.
LG has also improved on one of our main gripes on the G2, which was its software experience. The newest version of LG's custom interface for Android is streamlined, clean and a pleasure to use.
Overall LG has done an amazing job with the G3, and while its sheer size may not appeal to everyone, its clearly one of the best smartphones in the market to date.

The Smart Keyboard comes with improved contextual recognition, which reportedly decreases the margin for input errors by 75%, and a fair amount of customization, which enables owners of the G3 to change its on-screen height and bind symbols to buttons. The Smart Keyboard comes with improved contextual recognition, which reportedly decreases the margin for input errors by 75%, and a fair amount of customization, which enables owners of the G3 to change its on-screen height and bind symbols to buttons. Although most of the keyboard's features are not unique, it's always good to see that a manufacturer is trying to treat its users to the best possible experience.
