The Galaxy Watch Action runs the latest version of Tizen OS which brings several UI updates in the hopes to offer a unified experience across Samsung's entire product lineup.
Similar to One UI, which is Samsung’s custom Android skin, this updated version of Tizen relies heavily on dark backgrounds and splashes of color where necessary. This allows the device to fully take advantage of the AMOLED display, turning off the pixels and saving battery life when displaying black colors.
Samsung has opted to focus heavily on the user's health and physical activities. The new version of Tizen highlights three main goals to focus on each day: calories burned, minutes of exercise, and moving each hour. Each of these is tracked with their respective graphs that are highlighted in different colors.

Wearables
Besides unveiling the new Galaxy S10 series and the Galaxy Fold, Samsung also introduced the world to some new wearables, the Galaxy Watch Active, and the Galaxy Fit series.
The Galaxy Watch Active is probably Samsung's sleekest smartwatch to date. Samsung has decided to scrap the popular rotating bezel for a thinner and sleeker one wrapped around the 1.1-inch circular AMOLED display. The rest of the device is made up of its aluminum casing paired with a rubber strap. The Galaxy Watch Active also features two round physical buttons along the right side which replace the previous pill-shaped ones. On the rear is a new glass panel on the rear that houses a heart rate monitor.
Samsung has outfitted the Galaxy Watch Active with a 236mAh battery. In comparison to previous devices, this battery is quite a bit smaller. However, the smaller display size and the new dual-core Exynos 9110 chipset will continue to ensure a full day of use with this wearable.
Completing the entire setup is 4GB of storage paired with Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC support for mobile payments. Unfortunately, the wearable isn’t available with 3G or 4G LTE support.

Users will also be able to continuously monitor their heart rates through the day. Moreover, much like the Apple Watch, the Galaxy Watch Active will warn users if it detects any irregularities. Eventually, blood pressure monitoring will be available too through the My BP Lab app. This feature has been jointly developed with the University of California, San Francisco and will be available to download on March 15. Initially, though, only consumers in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Singapore, Australia, and Germany will have access to it.
As expected, Samsung’s latest wearable supports a variety of different workout modes in addition to automatic workout detection. Owners don’t need to worry about getting it wet either as the smartwatch is water resistant up to 50 meters.
Release and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active will be available to purchase in four colors (Silver, Black, Rose Gold, Sea Green) and costs $199.99 in the US. You can pre-order the wearable starting February 21 and shipments will begin on March 8. Those who pre-order it tomorrow will receive a free Wireless Charging Pad.
The Galaxy Watch Active will work with any Android smartphone running Android 5.0 Lollipop with at least 1.5GB of RAM. iPhone users will require an iPhone 5 or higher running iOS 9.0 or greater in order to use it.

You can update your Gear S3 using the Samsung Gear app on your mobile device. The app will automatically check for and notify you of Samsung Gear S3 updates if you have the automatic update feature turned on. Make sure your Gear S3 is fully charged before attempting to install the update.
Following the installation of the update, both Gear S3 timepieces will allow users to unlock the devices by rotating the bezels. This eliminates the need to type in a PIN code using a small keyboard. Users will also be able to preview MMS in the notifications, use new emoji, and reply to a messaging thread by sending a copy of their messaging history. The update will also allow those on a call to open the calendar app and check the weather by tapping on the home screen.
Users will be able to edit their default workouts after installing the update, and eight new indoor workouts have been added. With the newly added Theater mode, the Gear S3 can be taken into a movie theater without fear that it will annoy someone as the screen is shutdown, all sounds and alarms are muted, and the Always-on screen and Wake-up gesture are blocked. The Goodnight mode turns off alerts except for alarms and system sounds, and it blocks the Always-on screen and Wake-up gesture.
Voice assistant will now allow users to use voice commands with apps like Samsung Health, Samsung Pay and SmartThings. As an alternative to pinching and zooming, users will be able to navigate the watch and zoom in on the screen by turning the bezel.

Samsung has officially unveiled its newest series of smartwatches: the Samsung Gear S2 and Samsung Gear S2 Classic. Both wearables are powered by Tizen instead of Android Wear, but their most significant highlight is their 3G enabled variants, which let you use the smartwatches without a phone.
Both models also feature rotating bezels, which allow you to navigate through the various menus on your smartwatch. On the right side, there are also two physical buttons - a home and back keys - that make it easier to deal with notifications.

Samsung claims, Tizen will do well with keeping you informed about texts, calendars, emails, breaking news, and fitness goals, while the 3G version of the watch can make and take regular voice calls. However, it is important to note that Tizen is a much smaller ecosystem with much less watchfaces and third-party apps, when compared to Android Wear (but Samsung says it's working on expanding it).
On the other hand, the Tizen platform assists in offering longer battery life, with typical use ranging between two to three days (depending on usage).
The new smartwatches will offer full support for Samsung Pay, which is set to go live in the coming month. Samsung Pay promises compatibility with almost all current paying terminals with no special hardware required.
If you purchase the 3G enabled model, you will have to put in an seperate SIM card for calling and mobile data. The 3G version of the watches features a 300mAh battery (while the regular ones sport a 250mAh one), required because of the extra strain that comes with always-on connectivity. This makes the watches slightly heavier and thicker: the S2 3G weighs 1.8oz (51g) and measures 13.4mm thick.
The new family of Gear S2 smartwatches will be available on all four major US carriers - Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile - in the near future for a yet undisclosed price.

While Samsung has still to release a Tizen powered smartphone to the global market, the company has a decent lineup of devices (Gear S, Samsung Z) running their in-house mobile OS. Now Samsung is working on a new device (Samsung SM-Z130H) which runs Tizen 2.3, and some new screenshots give us a vision of what the latest version of Tizen will look like on one of Samsung's smartphones.
While the Tizen UI has a striking resemblance to Samsung's Android custom skin TouchWiz, the latest version shows off some significant differences. For example, we see the use of vivid colors and blue being used throughout the various interfaces. Interestingly the prominent use of blue is something we saw in the most recently demonstration of Lollipop on a Galaxy Note 3.
What do you think of Samsung's Tizen OS? Would you consider purchasing a device running on this platform?

If you aren't in the mood to be reminded that someone is looking to get in touch with you, these notifications can be blocked.Additionally you can now set up the watch to turn off notifications in the middle of the night, while you are dreaming about smartphones, tablets and wearables. While we don't have a changelist to provide you with the improvements made to S Health, we are told that there are some changes to improve the general stability of the watch.

Back in February at MWC, Samsung introduced the sequel to its first smartwatch, but instead of having Android power the Samsung Gear 2 and the Samsung Gear 2 Neo, the manufacturer turned to its own Tizen OS.
Samsung Galaxy Gear can now be switched to Tizen from Android
Accessories Android Firmware Samsung Software Tizen Updates Wearables
Starting today, Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch owners can update their timepiece from Android to Tizen. Earlier this month, a video displayed how the original Gear would look running the Tizen OS. Keep in mind that if you do update your watch, you will lose everything that is currently on it. The update is not yet being sent out OTA, which means that you are going to have to sync your Galaxy Gear with your PC and grab the update from Samsung Kies.
Back in February at MWC, Samsung introduced the sequel to its first smartwatch, but instead of having Android power the Samsung Gear 2 and the Samsung Gear 2 Neo, the manufacturer turned to its own Tizen OS.
The update to Tizen will improve the battery life on the watch, enhance the performance of the device, and enhance voice commands for the Galaxy Gear. Installing Tizen on your Galaxy Gear also turns the watch into a stand-alone music player, that will store music on the watch itself.
Most of the software related features found on the Samsung Gear 2 and Samsung Gear 2 Neo will be available on the updated Gear. The only features on the new watches that won't be moving over to your updated Gear are those that are hardware based, such as the heart rate monitor.

Samsung Galaxy Gear to receive Tizen update
Accessories Android Galaxy Gear Samsung Tizen Updates Wearables
When Samsung announced the Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo, owners of the original Galaxy Gear became concerned that their Android powered wearable will no longer receive updates. However it seems that Samsung plans to convert the original Galaxy Gear into a Tizen powered device sometime soon.
While No timeframe has been discussed, but the update will also carry some new features for the watch. For example, Sleep mode will track your sleeping habits, while Exercise mode monitors your workouts on a real-time basis. There will be a stand alone music player coming to the watch with the update, along with a feature that enables the owner to customize the double tap command that previously brought up Quick Controls. The latter has been carved out as a separate app.
After the update, Galaxy Gear users will be able to select the size of the font and choose from customizable wallpaper. In fact, all of the features on the Gear 2, except for the WatchON and the Heart Rate monitor, will be available to owners of the Samsung Galaxy Gear following the update.

Samsung has made several improvements to the Gear 2, making it much better than its predecessor. The Gear 2 is less bulky and lighter and comes with improved hardware which makes it fast and responsive. But the device is still midst a poor app ecosystem, which hasn't grown much in the last six months.
If you are heavily invested in the Samsung ecosystem and have $299 you are willing to spend on this device, you could consider the Gear 2 as your smartwatch. However the cheaper offerings from the competitors makes it heard to pick the Gear 2 as the top smartwatch offering.
