Acer is set to release the Liquid M320 and the Liquid Z320 in different stages – starting from September and having a confirmed schedule all the way up to December.

Both the Liquid Z630 and the Liquid Z630S are focused on multimedia. They are classed as phablets with 5.5-inch HD (720p) Zero Air Gap displays. On the Liquid Z630 you get 16GB of internal storage, 8MP rear and 8MP front wide angle cameras, a 4000mAh battery, Cat4 LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor with 2GB of RAM.

The Liquid Z630S ups that offering with 32GB of internal storage, an octa-core MediaTek processor and 3GB of RAM.

The Acer Liquid Z630 will be available in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region in September, starting from EUR 199 ($223).

The Gigaset ME features a 5 inch display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution which results in 441ppi pixel density. You also get 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE connectivity, a 3000mAh battery, dual SIM functionality and a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 graphics and 3GB of RAM. Additionally you get a a 16MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, both featuring an f/2.0 aperture, allowing you to take pictures in low-light conditions. Android 5.1 Lollipop is preinstalled with Gigaset UI on top.


The Gigaset ME Pro is a premium version of the Gegaset ME. It offers a 5.5 inch display, 20MP rear camera, and a 4000mAh battery.


The Gigaset ME Pure is a lower price variants of the Gigaset ME. It offers 16GB of internal storage with microSD, a 13MP rear camera, and a Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM. The battery has been expanded to 3320 mAh.


The Gigaset ME is now available in the UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Poland and Turkey. It is priced at the equivalent of $530 USD. The other two models will be released at a future date.

Apple Music gives artists a brilliant hub of their own through which they can ‘Connect’ with their fans. Artists can “post their latest tracks, behind-the-scenes photos, in-progress lyrics, or a new remix.”


Additionally common people like you and I can also share content with others, which means your creative harmonies have a chance to be heard by the industry’s big guns. And who knows, you may even get discovered in the process.

Release and Availability

Siri is now smarter and more proactive

With iOS 9, Apple is boosting the capabilities of Siri in the speed and features department both. Apple’s personal assistant is now 40% faster, and 40% more accurate than before.

Siri in iOS 9 also works with photos and videos stored on your device. For example, you can ask Siri to show you all photos you’ve taken in New York, and boom, all your results will be front and center. You can even ask Siri to set a reminder about an article you need to finish which you started off on the Web.

Siri now integrates much better with location. According to Apple: “Like a great assistant, your device can now anticipate what you want to do next based on your location, the time, what app you have open, or what you’re connected to.”


In iOS 9, search is taking a huge leap. We’ll go as far as saying that Apple has finally gotten search right on iOS, after a long, long time.

With Proactive Assistant, your iOS 9 powered device can suggest you a ton of actions based on your location. For example, you can connect your iPhone to a pair of headphones or your car, and Proactive Assistant will suggest you a playlist or audiobook accordingly.

Furthermore, if you pick up your iPhone in the morning, iOS 9 will suggest you which app you should launch, and all this is done based on your daily routine. But it doesn’t just end there, you can even create calendar events without even touching your keyboard.

If you’re an email buff, then you’re gonna love this one; once you start adding in contacts to a new mail message, the OS will intelligently suggests you contacts which you usually add with someone. Mind. Blown.

Passbook is now Wallet

Passbook, the hub where all our passes lie has been renamed to Wallet. Why? Because, Apple. If your’e a Passbook user, don’t fret or anything at all. It’s the same app you’ve come to love, but with a new name.

As Apple best puts it: “It’s one place for all your credit and debit cards, reward cards, boarding passes, tickets and more.”

Spotlight focuses on things that matter

Spotlight search, something which we’ve come to love – or hate – over the years, is also getting a slight boost from Apple’s development team. The new search hub will now suggest you “recent contacts, apps, or places you may be interested in.” A great way to skip across the hassle of launching multiple apps and swiping through home screens.

Security is also at the forefront in Apple’s book, and its new method of search and its APIs aren’t any different. The company is promising that it does not associate your searches with your Apple ID, nor or they shared with third-parties.

Updated Notes app can do more

The Notes app is getting a complete makeover in iOS 9. And if you’re a fan of to-do lists then you’re absolutely going to love this. “Add a checklist of to-do items in Notes with just a tap.”

You can add photos from your camera right from the Notes app, but that’s not all, you can add content to your notes from other apps, Maps, Safari etc. as well.

Maps now offers Transit information

Ask anyone and they’ll tell you how much they loathe Apple’s Maps app. But with iOS 9, Apple is taking things up a notch with new features to the Maps app.

According to Apple: “A new Transit view in Maps includes directions for public transportation like buses, trains, subways, and ferries.”

News curates topics that matter to you

iOS 9 comes with a brand new News app, which, well, displays news. But it’s not another boring news app, there’s much more to it.

The News app has a curated section of “articles based on your interests.” Apple further explains: “Articles in News combine interactive stories with beautiful editorial layouts, photo galleries, animations, and video.”

The News app is available on both the iPhone and iPad, and in typical Apple fashion, your data is kept private and nothing is shared with third-parties.

Initially, the News app will work in the US, UK and Australia.

Updated QuickType Keyboard

If you’re in the ownership of an iPad, then you’ll be pleased to learn that iOS 9 comes with a new QuickType keyboard with new editing tools, making things more faster than before.

There’s a new shortcut bar up top, where all your editing features sit and it’s fully customizable for third-party apps.

Improved Multitasking

We will detail iOS 9’s multitasking features in a separate post. But here’s a teaser: it now supports split-screen multitasking.

More Metal improves overall performance

Metal is meant for games to deliver performance at its peak. But in iOS 9, Apple is using the very same engine for apps as well, to deliver faster performance and smoother scrolling.

Improved Battery Life

iOS 9 is more easier on resources when compared to iOS 8. If you’re an iPhone 6, you’ll get an additional one hour of usage. And on iPad, you’ll get an additional four hours of usage.

Takes lesser space to install

Unlike iOS 8, iOS 9 requires very, very little free space to update, hence 16GB device users can rejoice!

CarPlay Goes Wireless

Starting iOS 9, CarPlay has gone wireless, negating the need to physically hook up your iPhone to your car’s in-dash infotainment system.

HomeKit

Apple also touched upon HomeKit – its home automation platform. The company says: “HomeKit supports new accessories like home security systems and mechanical blinds. And with iCloud Remote Access, you can control them no matter where you are.”

Improvements to Health app

The Health app is a complete hub for everything related to your health and fitness. With iOS 9, Apple’s taking things up a notch. The Health app can track “reproductive health, how often you’re seated, and UV exposure.”

Release and Availability

Apple will release the first beta of iOS 9 to developers later today. A public beta of the update is expected in July, while the final release will take place this fall.

With each iteration of Apple's iOS, the company continues to add new features and improvements to their mobile platform. Unsurprisingly, with every release the company chooses to drop certain models which are deemed incapable of running the most recent version of iOS.

Pinning Tabs in Safari

You can now pin browser tabs in Safari by simply dragging them to the left of the browser where they will be pinned. Opening any new link from within the pinned tab will open that link in a new tab.

Spotlight

Spotlight has been updated to search using more places, including weather and sports score. Spotlight can also be resized and moved to any part of the screen as well.

Full Screen View in Mail App

Users will now be able to access the Mail app in full-screen mode while allowing you to add tabs to a New Message windows.

Multiple Desktops

With multiple desktops, you will be able to give yourself more room to work with on your Mac. The Space Bar key is now at the helm of this seamless function.

Split View and Snap Feature

Two Windows can now be arranged side by side and the sizing of the windows will be done automatically. Similarly windows will display a snap behavior when they are arranged, similar to what Microsoft offers in its own Windows operating system.

Audio Button in Safari Address Bar

Safari, now displays an audio speaker icon in the address bar for any audio the web page might be playing. This is a feature already available to Google Chrome users. Users can click the icon to mute the audio as well.

Natural-language Search Throughout the OS

This new feature allows you to make queries using natural language in the written form. For Example “How many unread emails do I have in June?”

New Gestures

A new gesture based system has been introduced somewhat similar to iOS. For example, using gestures users can quickly delete messages from the Mail app, without having to hunt for the delete button.

Performance

Apple says that OS X El Capitan is much faster than OS X Yosemite, and apparently it’s twice faster than Yosemite in switching apps, and about 1.4 times faster when launching new apps.

Metal

The technology that enhanced gaming development on the iOS platform, is now coming to Mac as well, promising a huge round of improvement for future games on the platform.

Traditionally, Google has been naming major Android versions after candy and pastries. Android 1.5, for example, was called Cupcake. Then came Donut, Eclair, Froyo, and so on, all the way to Lollipop. Since Android release names go in alphabetical order, it is safe to assume that the name of the next big Android release will begin with the letter M.

According to speculations, it could be anything from Muffin or Marshmallow to Milky Way or M&M's, should Google choose to partner up with a well-known candy brand like it did for Android 4.4 KitKat. It is said that the upcoming Android release is internally codenamed Macadamia Nut Cookie. Its official name, however, is most likely to be different, hopefully one that rolls of the tongue more easily.

In terms of version number, Google may choose to go with Android 5.2 or decide to jump straight onto Android 6.0 for their next dessert.

Material Design

In terms of features, Android M is shaping up as an evolutionary upgrade over Lollipop, not as a revolutionary one. That is, its focus could be on enhancing existing features instead of implementing a ton of new ones. Then there are the things likely to stay rather unchanged, such as the look and feel of Android's stock user interface. Minor tweaks here and there are sure to come, but as a whole, Android's UI is expected to be built on top of the Material Design principles instilled with Android 5.0 Lollipop. In other words, expect seeing more flat icons, shadows under objects, sliding transitions, and minimalist approach to graphics design in Android's next major version.

New Features

The Android M user interface is rumored to introduce a couple of welcome features – native multi-window support and universal quick replies to incoming messages. The former, which allows apps to run side by side, has been available on some manufacturer UIs for quite a while, and we'll be happy to see it land on a broader range of Android devices. As for the latter, quick replies have been part of iOS since its 8th major release. If Android M's approach follows a similar principle, we'll be allowed to shoot quick text messages back straight from the notification panel.

Android Pay

Back in March, Google confirmed that it had been working on a new mobile payments framework called Android Pay. It shouldn't be seen as a whole new mobile payments system as, technically, it isn't going to be. Rather, Android Pay is developed to be a layer allowing devs and companies to easily integrate secure payment methods in their apps. At first, NFC will be the main communications medium used by Android Pay, and biometrics data should be supported at a later point in time.

From the looks of it, a new Photos application will be announced alongside Android M. Screenshots of the new app were recently obtained by Android Police, showing off the software's functionality and UI. As before, users will be able to back up their images to the cloud, but the twist now is that images won't be tied with the user's Google+ account. Furthermore, Assistant is the name of a new feature in the Photos app. Its purpose is to let people easily create movies, stories, animation and collages out of their photos and videos.

New ways to interact

Imagine if you could interact with Android apps using your voice. Well, if rumors are to be trusted, that might be a feature in Android M, allowing developers to add hands-free capabilities to their software. While details are still scarce, this alleged hands-free capability could be just an advanced accessibility feature.

Another rumored Android M feature that we know little about is referred to as Nearby. In a nutshell, it is supposed to simplify the discovery of and communication with other Android users. Will this be Google's Answer to Airdrop in iOS? Well, your guess is as good as ours.

Furthermore, Android M is expected to bring changes to the UI's notifications and volume control system. Details are, again, little to non-existent, but we're secretly hoping for the plain ol' mute feature to make its return to Android. Not that we think Android's interruptions system is going to be retired, that is.

Performance Improvements

Even though Android M won't really be a major Android release, it will focus on improving the overall platform performance. Among the enhancements we're expecting to see are optimizations in RAM management – apps should be using less of the stuff. Furthermore, Android M is likely to improve on stand-by time by reducing app wake-ups and activity while the device is asleep.

Privacy and security enhancements

Lately, fingerprint scanners have become an industry trend, appearing on more and more premium smartphones, including Android-based phones like the Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, and Galaxy Alpha.

Therefore, rumors suggesting that Android M will boast native support for fingerprint scanners make perfect sense as the feature is only going to grow in popularity. This should allow devs to integrate fingerprint authentication in their apps with ease, regardless of the device's make and model. Besides, logging in on multi-user devices with a scan of a fingerprint seems like a convenient solution.

On a related note, Android M is expected to be the most enterprise-friendly version of the OS to date. The new release is rumored to bring "the power of Android to all kinds of workplaces [...] to workers at small business, deskless workers, logistics and warehousing jobs". From the looks of it, Google could be building on top of Android's ability to separate personal and work-related data, which was added with Lollipop.

Speaking of security and privacy, rumor has it that Android M will allow users to edit app permissions. In other words, if you don't feel like allowing an app to, let's say, read your Google account information or to view your photo gallery, you should be able to disable the software's access to that data.

Release and Availability

Even though Android M will very likely be unveiled at the Google I/O Developer Conference, it will only likely debut later this year, alongside new Nexus devices. Both LG and Huawei are rumored to be building new Nexus handsets, and we cant wait to see what both manufacturers bring to the table.

Based on last year's trend, an early build of Android M may be released to developers after the conference. Last year it was only the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013 (WiFi) owners who got to sample Android L, before the public release of Lollipop five months later.

But in any case, one should expect Nexus and Google Play Edition devices to receive the Android M update first. Flagship smartphones and tablets by Samsung, LG, Sony, HTC, and Motorola should come next in line. More information about the Android M launch date will be posted as we get it.

Those hoping to attend in person can apply for tickets now through April 17th at 10am PDT/1pm EDT. Apple will tell you via email whether you've been selected to buy a ticket no later than 5pm PDT/8pm EDT on April 20th.
