Softcard is a joint mobile payment system offered through Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. The service has been available for Android devices for some time, but was recently made available for Windows Phones as well. Last month, the HTC One M8 for Windows received support for the payment system. Now, the release of the Lumia Denim update, the Lumia 928 and the Lumia 822 are also expected to gain Softcard support.

If you have set updates to be downloaded automatically you should receive a notification once the update is ready to be installed on your device. You can also manually check for the update availability by heading to Settings > Phone Update > Check for Updates. Make sure your battery is fully charged and that you are connected to a Wi-Fi connection before initiating the update, which should take around 10 - 20 minutes to complete. Once the update is completed the phone should restart one last time before it is ready for use.

AT&T may be the first to offer Windows Phone 8 devices with the launch the highly anticipated Nokia Lumia 920, Nokia Lumia 820 and the HTC 8X starting tomorrow. But Verizon is ready with their own lineup and will start taking pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 822 and HTC Windows Phone 8X starting November 9, at 1.00 AM eastern time.
The Lumia 822 features a 4.3 inch touch display, an 8 megapixel camera, 8GB of storage which can be expanded through microSD, a secondary camera for video calls, and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM. It will cost $99.99 (after a $50 mail-in rebate) with a two-year contract and $449.99 contract free.
The HTC Windows Phone 8X features a 4.3 inch touch display, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video capture, a secondary HD camera for video calls and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. It will cost $199.99 with a two-year contract and $549.00 contract free.
All variants of the device will ship on Tuesday, November 13th expect the Red HTC 8X which is expected to ship on November 21st.

Verizon has officially announced the Nokia Lumia 822 and it joins Verizon’s fall lineup of Windows Phones. The Lumia 822 adds a mid-range Windows Phone 8 offering alongside Verizon’s high-end HTC Windows Phone 8X.

The device will also proprietary apps including Nokia Drive, Nokia Maps, Nokia City Lens, Nokia Music and more.
Verizon is still to reveal the release date of the handset, but we believe it may be in line with the rumored November 8th. We should know more about the device later today when Microsoft celebrates Windows Phone 8.
Unlike other Windows Phone 8 devices, the Lumia 822 will not be available in a range of colors like red, yellow, cyan. Instead it will available only in white, grey and black only.

The device which was previously codenamed Atlas, features a 4.3 inch display, an 8MP camera with dual LED flash and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Like all modern handsets in Verizon the Lumia 822 will feature the carriers 4G LTE connectivity.
Much like the Lumia 820, the Lumia 822 will also feature interchangeable back covers, which server multiple purposes including improving ruggedness and wireless charging.
While AT&T is set to have exclusive access to the Nokia Lumia 920 and the Lumia 820, we have already heard of the Nokia Lumia 810 which will be making its way to T-Mobile. Is Verizon getting only one Lumia device or is another flagship with PureView on board in the works.
If Nokia misses their chance to offer a flagship HTC is ready to oblige with their HTC 8X.
