Just like the previous versions of TaiG, the tool covers all devices that support iOS 8.x. The full list is as follows:

As we mentioned before, the tool is only available to Windows users for now, with an OS X version expected sometime later. However, keep in mind that this is still an early release and you may come across some issues, as pointed out by the TaiG team on its website.


As you can see, Cydia Substrate is currently not compatible with iOS 8.2 and 8.3 so it’s requested to users that they do not yet install anything off Cydia whose sole requirement is Cydia Substrate in order to function. Currently, Jay Freeman (aka Saurik), the creator of Cydia is working to update Cydia Substrate and ensure compatibility for those running the latest mobile firmware by Apple.


[GUIDE] How to Jailbreak iOS 8.3, 8.2, 8.1.3 using TaiG 2.0

With the release of the TaiG 2.0 Jailbreak, owners of supported, iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices can now jailbreak their devices on iOS 8.3, 8.2 or 8.1.3

Requirements

• Backup your iOS device data on iTunes or iCloud before proceeding with this guide
• Download and install iTunes 12.0.1, if you have installed a newer version please remove it and ensure you are running iTunes 12.0.1

How to fix TaiG Jailbreak (Stuck at 30% or 40%), Error 1104

If you get this error, you will probably need to try using another USB port. If that too fails, try on a different Windows computer.

How to fix TaiG Jailbreak (Stuck at 50%), Error 1105

If you get this error, try this: An antivirus or firewall program is enabled on your program. Disable any such program and try jailbreak again. Once jailbreak succeeds, you can enable the program again. Make sure Find My iPhone is turned off. Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone.

How to fix Injecting (Stuck At 60%)

If you encounter this issue, first reboot both your iOS device and your Windows computer and then do this: Launch TaiG in Administrator mode – Right click on TaiG’s .exe file, click on ‘Run as administrator’. Now try to jailbreak again. It should work. If the above solution still fails to fix the problem, do a fresh restore of your device on iOS 8.3 and try again.

"Jailbreak Failed" message

Turn off Wi-Fi on the device and try again.

Fix Error when installing iTunes 12.0.1 in VM

If you have Windows installed as VM in Parallels on OS X you may get error when installing iTunes 12.0.1. You can fix it by trying to reinstall Parallels Tools and then try to install iTunes 12.0.1 again.

Fix ‘Apple Driver hasn’t been found’ Error

If you are getting this error, you are likely on a 64-bit version of Windows. Install iTunesDriver64_0205.exe from here to fix the problem.

Fix “Storage Almost Full” Error after jailbreak

Simply run Cydia and wait till it fully loads everything. This will fix the problem.

Jailbreak tweaks compatibility

At the moment, only a handful jailbreak tweaks are compatible on iOS 8.3. This is apparently due to Substrate not being compatible with TaiG iOS 8.3 jailbreak. An updated version of TaiG will be released soon with Substrate which is compatible with this new jailbreak.

How To Jailbreak iOS 8.1 Untethered Using Pangu8


[NOTE] Pangu in its current iteration does not install Cydia by default. While Saurik has updated Cydia for iOS 8, it must be installed manually until Pangu team updates the tool which bundles the Cydia installer. If SSHing is not your thing, it is best to stay away and wait for Pangu to release updated tool which includes Cydia.

[NOTE] Before jailbreaking, you must turn off any lock screen passcode or Touch ID (Settings > General > Touch ID & Passcode > turn off Simple Passcode) as well as Find My iPhone (Settings > iCloud > Find my iPhone), and naturally, your device will need to have spare storage space in order to run Pangu in the first place.

[NOTE] You must have an iTunes restored version of iOS 8 / 8.1 installed on your device for the jailbreak to work. If you updated from iOS 7.x to 8.x via OTA then the jailbreak won’t work. You can download iOS 8.1 from here, and restore using iTunes.

[NOTE] Make sure you backup your device completely before proceeding either through iTunes or using iCloud (Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup and turn on iCloud Backup). At this stage, there’s a reasonable chance that something may go wrong, and while many of you will undoubtedly be prepared to take this chance, you don’t want to lose your data for good.

[NOTE] You must have iTunes 12.0.1 or later installed on your PC before you can even begin. But that’s not it; it should also be running in the background when the jailbreak process is taking place.

1. Download Pangu for Windows

2. Right-click on the Pangu icon and then click on Run as Administrator.

3. With Pangu up and running, connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your PC using USB.

4. Click on the checkbox that says PP to uncheck it.

5. Press on the big blue button in the center of the display to begin the jailbreak process. Your device will reboot couple of times during the process so be patient.

6. Once the jailbreak is complete, you’ll see a new Pangu icon on your iOS device’s home screen. It’s there to confirm that the jailbreak was successful.

How to install Cydia with Pangu8 jailbreak

Please do not proceed unless you are aware of this risks of installing early release software. We do not recommend using this jailbreak method on a device you use day to day.

Install Open SSH

• With your iOS device connected to a Wi-Fi network, tap on the Pangu icon on your home screen.
  -
• Now tap on the OpenSSH option.
  -
• Tap on Install on the top right-hand corner of the display.
  -
• Let the installation process complete before moving forward.

Install Cydia

• Make sure you have backed up your iOS device.
  -
• Download Cydia .deb file
• Download cydia-Iproj file
  -
• Once the .deb files are on your machine, you’ll need to SFTP the file onto your device. You can use WinSCP for Windows
  -
• On your device, navigate to Settings > Wi-Fi, and find the hotspot that both your device and PC / Mac are connected to. Next to the connection’s details, hit the "i" and make note of the IP address.
  -
• Using your designated SFTP client, key in the IP address as well as "root" for username and "alpine" for the password; ignoring the quotations, of course.
  -
• Once the file browser appears, drop the .deb files in the root folder of your device.
  -
• This is where things might get a tad tricky. Next, you’ll be firing in commands that you may not be familiar with, so ensure to watch closely if you’re not familiar with this process. To start an SSH command line session on Windows, hit Ctrl + T and on Mac, hit ⌘ + T.
  -
• Finally, you'll need to run the command:
  -
   dpkg -i cydia-lproj_1.1.12_iphoneos-arm.deb
  -
  Now run this command:

  dpkg -i cydia_1.1.13_iphoneos-arm.deb

• Reboot your device.

Thats it... Your iOS 8.x device is now jailbroken (untethered) with Cydia installed. It is important to note that Cydia Substrate hasn’t been updated yet for iOS 8. Therefore not all of your favorite jailbreak tweaks will work.

With the iOS 8 unveiling expected in June at WWDC, its unlikely that the jailbreak community will make their iOS 7.1.1 exploit public. Its still good to know that jailbreak community is well and truly alive, working on finding new exploits that can be potentially used in future jailbreaks.

Apple recently released the iOS 7.0.5 software update for their iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c handsets outside of the United States, and for a while, it appeared as though the Evasi0n jailbreak had been patched up. Now the Evad3rs team have released Evasi0n v1.0.5 for untethered iOS 7.0.5 jailbreak.

Our step by step guide on how to jailbreak iOS 7.0.5 using Evasi0n7 version 1.0.5 follows:

Please note that unless you have actually updated your firmware to iOS 7.0.5, then there’s no need to re-jailbreak, although if you would like to be on the latest version, you can download and install it before jailbreaking with the revised Evasi0n7 tool.

The process of jailbreaking iOS using Evasi0n hasn't changed, so you can;

iOS hacker iH8sn0w has discovered a way to untether jailbreak the iPhone 4s, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad mini and iPod Touch 5 which are powered by the Apple A5(X) processor for life. Details are relatively scarce at this moment regarding the exploit, although if it were ever released in the form of a jailbreak utility, those in ownership of either device would be able to enjoy an potentially indefinite, untethered jailbreak.

The issue now is that it is very likely that Apple will patch the exploit used for this jailbreak if it was every released publicly

In any case it currently looks like the exploit is not quite ready for public use, based on the complexity of using it at its current state. We will be following this story and will update you if this changes in the near future

Step 1

backup your device with iTunes/iCloud before you proceed. This way, if something goes wrong, or you wish to remove the exploit, you can do so easily and without any loss-of-data hassles.



Step 2

Once you have backed up, make sure your device can be jailbroken by heading to Settings > General > About > Version. The current exploit only works for iPhone, iPad and iPod devices running iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4.



Step 3

Use iTunes to revert back to iOS 7.0.4, even if you have used OTA (Over The Air) to update your device in the past.



Step 4

Disable your passcode if you have one in place, as this is known to cause issues. Go to Settings > General > Touch ID & Passcode > Turn Passcode Off.



Step 5

Download evasi0n 7 for Mac (10.6 minimum!) or Windows (XP minimum!). Once installed, just extract the executable file from the archive and power it on. We assume that your device is already plugged to the computer, as you didn't forget to back it up via iTunes. If so, the small program will detect your device and list it as supported. Click the 'Jailbreak' button and do not interact with your device or iTunes in any way until prompted (at about 60% of the progress bar). You'll be then asked to unlock your iOS 7 device and tap the 'evasi0n 7' icon. Go ahead and do as instructed. The process will then continue, and you'll be asked once again to unlock your device.



Step 6

Once the process is done, navigate to the second homescreen and launch the 'Cydia' app. Don't touch your device while it prepares your file system. It'll take a short while, and your device will then restart. Voila! You're now officially jailbroken.



Step 7 

The Cydia store will ask you for an upgrade, go ahead and opt for the complete update. Do keep in mind that the alternative store is still stuck in the iOS 6 era, so it'll clash with your UI visually. Updates to Cydia, along with a bunch of other jailbreaking essentials are expected to come soon, though there's obviously no specific date.

That's it, folks, enjoy your freshly jailbroken iOS 7 device. If your device becomes unresponsive during the process itself, you can just put your device in 'DFU' mode (Device Firmware Upgrade) and restore it. How-to jailbreak iOS 7 / 7.0.4 (instructions + video tutorial):

Step 1: Download Evasi0n 7 for Windows | Mac

Step 2: Connect your iOS device to your computer and start Evasi0n 7.

Step 3: Now click on “Jailbreak” button to start the process.

Evasi0n will now perform the jailbreak in a series of automated steps. Just sit back and don’t do anything silly. Allow it to complete the process. It may take a few minutes to complete.

Step 4: Once done, Evasi0n will inform you that you need to unlock your device and tap the new ‘evasi0n 7’ app icon found on the home screen of your device to continue. Tap the app icon and keep your device connected, it will automatically restart.

Step 5: Once the reboot is complete, Evasi0n will continue to apply final touches before asking you to unlock your device again. Once you unlock it, it will reboot again, followed by ‘Done!’ screen.

Step 6: Cydia should now be on your iOS device home screen. Quit the Evasi0n 7 application, disconnect your device from your computer and start Cydia!

Apple has drastically changed the look of iOS with their recent announcement of iOS 7. The new flattened look is bright and colorful and quite a drastic move from the skeuomorphic designs which Apple has used from the inception of their mobile platform.

When Apple released iOS 6.1.3 to end-users they also patched the Evasi0n untethered jailbreak which was essential for the Apple iPhone 5 and other newer iOS devices.This means that if you accidently upgrade to iOS 6.1.3, there is no way to untether jailbreak your device. There is no way for newer devices to downgrade to older versions of iOS either. However if you have a older iOS device running an A4 powered processor or lower, you can tether jailbreak iOS 6.1.3

The process is applicable to devices vulnerable to the Limera1n exploit which include the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and the iPod Touch 4th. The iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, the iPads and iPod Touch 5th are not supported by this jailbreak.

If you have one of the supported devices, the guide to jailbreak iOS 6.1.3 using Sn0wbreeze 2.9.14 follows:

The step-by-step guide follows

1. Launch Sn0wbreeze and click the blue arrow on the bottom right side of the opened window.

4. On the next screen select Simple Mode

5. Now Sn0wbreeze will start building a custom firmware file, which can take awhile. Sit back and wait until the process is complete.

6. Once the process is completed, a custom ROM will be placed on your desktop

7. Sn0wbreeze will now ask you to enter Pwned DFU mode. You can follow the onscreen instructions on how to do this. In case it doesn't work the first time, feel free to try again.

8. Once in Pwned DFU mode, launch iTunes and keep your device plugged to your computer.
   -
9. iTunes will detect your device in recovery mode. Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and click Restore in iTunes. Select the custom IPSW file created by Sn0wbreeze.
   [NOTE] At this point make sure you select the custom IPSW file and not the original IPSW file.

10. Wait for the process to complete as the custom IPSW file is flashed to your device.

When Apple released iOS 6.1.3 to end-users they also patched the Evasi0n untethered jailbreak which was essential for the Apple iPhone 5 and other newer iOS devices.This means that if you accidently upgrade to iOS 6.1.3, there is no way to untether jailbreak your device. There is no way for newer devices to downgrade to older versions of iOS either. However if you have a older iOS device running an A4 powered processor or lower, you can tether jailbreak iOS 6.1.3

The process is applicable to devices vulnerable to the Limera1n exploit which include the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and the iPod Touch 4th. The iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, the iPads and iPod Touch 5th are not supported by this jailbreak.
