Design
The whole upper half of the phone slides up to reveal the three-camera setup in front. Honor has not used a magnetic setup like Xiaomi for their slider-mechanism and it doesn't have a snapping sound when it opens. The main concern with these slider type phones are their durability and we are curious to see how the Honor Magic 2 fairs in that department.
The Honor Magic 2 is made of metal and glass and is offered in a few color options with the company's signature gradient hues.

The handset features a 6.4-inch FHD+ display with a 2340 x 1080 pixel resolution. The manufacturer has outfitted an optical fingerprint scanner under the display which adds a layer of security without the need a sperate physical scanner.

We've already seen this type of design used on the Oppo Find X, and the recently announced Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, but there are still very few handsets in the market offering this type of bezel-free all-screen design.

On the rear, you have a 24-megapixel primary camera, a 16-megapixel super wide-angle camera, and a 16-megapixel monochrome camera.
On the front, you have a 16-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel depth sensing for bokeh portraits and another 2-megapixel camera that enables 3D-sensing for face unlock on the Magic 2.

Honor 8X available in Europe for €250, coming to the US soon
The Honor 8X which was officially unveiled back in September, is now available in Europe. Initial availability will be in France, Italy, and Spain. Honor said the smartphone will hit more European countries "later this year" and launch in the United States "soon".
The handset features a 6.5 inch 1080p full HD display, dual-SIM capabilities, microSD, a 16 megapixel front camera and a dual-camera setup with 20-megapixel main and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. The handset is powered by the mid-range Huawei Kirin 710 chipset which packs a 2.2GHz octa-core processor and a Mali G51 GPU. Honor promises "excellent performance" which is enhanced by its "revolutionary" GPU turbo, a software update meant further improve gaming performance.
The Honor 8X will be offered in a 64GB variant for €250, while the 128GB model costs €300.

Honor View 10 receives Android Pie update in Europe
We recently reported that Huawei has started rolling out the Android Pie update for the Mate 10 Pro in Europe, signifying that they had concluded their public beta test. Now it looks like their sub-brand Honor is also seeding out the Android 9.0 software update to Honor View 10 customers in Europe.
While the changelog doesn't go into details it states that the update "adds multiple emotion designs in lifestyle, shopping, and security, delivering a more comfortable and convenient user experience."
If you live in Europe and own an Honor View 10, you should soon be receiving a notification that the Android Pie update is available for your device. Users are advised to back up their devices before installing the update and ensuring it is installed on a fully charged device with a strong Wi-Fi connection.
With the update rolling out in Europe, it should be long before other regions, including the US, get the update on their handsets.

The Honor 8X Max was officially announced earlier today in China alongside the Honor 8X. While it will remain an exclusive to China for now, we expect one of the siblings will eventually be offered to the US and European markets.
The Honor 8X Max features a 7.12 inch display with a 2244 x 1080 pixel resolution. Despite having a larger display size, the larger device has a lower resolution display and a smaller notch than the Honor 8X.
On the rear the Honor 8X Max features a dual camera setup made up of a 16MP main sensor and a secondary 2MP imaging sensor. You have an 8MP camera on the front and the 8.1mm thick device packs a generous 5000mAh battery.
The Honor 8X Max is available with Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset with 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM, or the Snapdragon 660 chipset with 128GB of storage. Prices start at the ¥1499.00 (around $220) in China.

Huawei's sub-brand Honor has a new smartphone called the Honor Note 10, which has been officially unveiled in China ahead of its commercial launch tomorrow, August 1.
The handset packs a massive 6.95 inch AMOLED display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio and a 2220 by 1080 pixel resolution. Honor has attached some powerful speakers on this device with Dolby Atmos sound enhancements. The large size has also allowed the manufacturer to pack in a 5000mAh battery, which should allow it 18 hours of continuous video playback between charges.
The Honor Note 10 has a vertically arranged dual (16MP+24MP) camera setup on its rear, and a 13MP camera located on its thin bezel in front. All three cameras are AI-enhanced to automatically recognize various scenes and environments, adjust lighting conditions, and of course, beautify your self-portraits.
The handset is powered by a Huawei Kirin 970 processor and comes with up to 128GB GB and 8GB of RAM depending on the configuration you pick.
The handset runs Android 8.1 Oreo, which has the EMUI custom software installed on top.
Honor has included Huawei's GPU Turbo technology with the Note 10, which enhances the gaming experience on the smartphone by diverting extra power to the GPU whenever necessary. The Honor Note 10 also debuts a brand-new proprietary CPU Turbo which in similar fashion maximizes the use of the high end Kirin CPU and large battery.
This makes the device optimal for heavy gaming, and Honor promises that the handset will stay nice and cool courtesy of the liquid cooling system it has within it.
In China, the Honor Note 10 has been priced at CNY 2,799 ($410) which will get you the 64GB model with 6GB of RAM. An extra 400 yuan (around $60) will get you the 128GB version. The highest configuration packs 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM for 3,599 yuan ($525).
