The Samsung Galaxy S5 has received a root courtesy of well known iOS developer Geohot through his a tool known as towelroot. According to Geohot, towelroot is compatible with both the AT&T and Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 models, but in reality it should work perfectly fine with anything that’s running a kernel built before June 3.
You can download the towelroot rooting tool for your Galaxy S5 by headed to towelroot.com on your mobile browser. The tool itself is free to download, but you are invited to donate toward the developers future endeavors.
Installation of the root-gaining app is quick and simple. After heading on over to the tool’s website on your device, simply click the 'lambda' in the center of the screen and download the required APK directly on your Android device. Once you install the APK, open the app and click on “make it ra1n” and allow the root to take effect. Those who have previously been on iOS, may recognize the familiar browser based jailbreak method.
