Last month we reported that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro was receiving the Android ICS update and now the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini is getting its taste of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The update however will not be offered OTA (Over the Air). Users will have to head over to Sony’s website and see if their device SI (Sales Item) number matches that of the list of devices which are now receiving the update.
If your SI number appears on Sony’s list you can obtain the update by connecting your device to your computer through the PC Companion for Windows or Bridge for Mac.
For those who don't know this device the Xperia Mini was part of Sony Ericsson’s 2011 lineup of Android handsets. It features a 3-inch touchscreen reality display with Sony's mobile BRAVIA engine, 5 megapixel camera which is capable of capturing 720p HD video, microSD storage and is powered by a 1GHz processor with 512MB of RAM.

Meanwhile Google has now introduced Android 4.1 Jelly Bean which offers an improved performance over ICS, and we are curious to see how many of the devices which received ICS which be treated to the faster and improved Android Jelly Bean.

Sony Ericsson releases Xperia Facebook phones
Two new devices have joined Sony Ericsson's Xperia lineup of devices, namely the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini and Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro. Both devices run Google's Android mobile operating system and have 3-inch displays with Sony's mobile BRAVIA engine. The Xperia Mini Pro features a full slide out QWERTY keyboard and is aimed at a business audience.
Both devices are powered by 1GHz processors and have 512MB RAM. They also feature 5MP cameras and have LED flashes for low light situations. In terms of weight the Xperia Mini weighs in at 99 grams, while the Xperia Mini Pro weighs 136 grams as a result of it's keyboard. Both devices allow microSD memory card expansion up to 32GB. The Mini and Mini Pro will be available in a variety of colors, and feature a 1200mAh battery with excellent battery life.
A unique decision that Sony has made is to integrate Facebook features into both these smartphones. Thus offering a unique experience for its users. You will be able to Sync your contacts and your calendar with Facebook.
