Samsung Expands Stable One UI 9 to Galaxy S25 Lineup and Widens US S26 Availability
Samsung has officially moved into Stage 2 of its One UI 9 software rollout, starting September 28 2026. The stable update is now heading to the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 FE, with the rollout beginning in South Korea before moving through international markets in phased waves. At the same time, Samsung has broadened Galaxy S26 availability in the United States, pushing stable builds to carrier-locked and factory-unlocked handsets across Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.
Galaxy S25 Rollout Details
Devices enrolled in the One UI 9 beta programme are receiving the stable OTA package first, arriving with firmware version ending in DZIF and bundling the September 2026 Android security patch. Non-beta units running stable One UI 8.5 are scheduled to follow in the coming days. The inclusion of the Galaxy S25 FE in the initial Stage 2 wave is worth noting as FE models have historically had to wait months after the main lineup, so getting feature parity from day one is a welcome change.
US Galaxy S26 owners who spent weeks on beta builds can now move to the production branch without needing a system wipe or beta re-registration, which is a straightforward improvement on how Samsung has handled these transitions in the past.
What One UI 9 Brings to the S25
The headline addition is Now Nudge, a contextual automation layer built into Google Messages, Samsung Messages, and Google Chat. It evaluates message content to surface actionable shortcuts without leaving the conversation, things like saving a calendar reminder from a message, pulling reservation details, or generating directions to a mentioned location. It is the kind of feature that sounds small until it saves you from copying and pasting something for the fifth time that week.
The Now Brief system gets an upgrade too, introducing modular generative cards that let you customise your daily morning summary with live commute forecasts, wellness metrics, and media recommendations. Camera users get My FanCam automated subject tracking in video, and Document Scan picks up curvature de-warping alongside an enhanced Finger Eraser for cleaner digital document archiving.
On the privacy side, real-time alerts now notify you when background apps attempt unexpected microphone, camera, or sensor access. Device maintenance tools including self-diagnostic tests and warranty lookups have also moved directly into the main Settings menu, removing the need for third-party utility apps to do what should have always been a native function.
How to Check for the Update
Open Settings, scroll to Software Update, and tap Download and Install. Rollout timing may vary slightly depending on your carrier and region as Samsung stages the deployment in waves, so if it has not arrived yet it should not be far off.
