Dropbox offering more storage to Professional and Business Standard users
Dropbox announced today that it will be given an additional 1TB of storage to subscribers on a Professional or Business Standard account. This brings the total storage on Professional accounts to 2TB, and for Business Standard accounts a total of 3TB of storage.
Users who subscriber to either Dropbox Professional or Business Standard will see the new storage options today, while existing subscribers will get the increased storage in the coming weeks.
The increased storage will allow professionals to share large video or CAD files with their clients directly from Dropbox, so they can mark up previews from any web browser without having to download third-party software.

Dropbox owned, Mailbox for Android has been updated to version 2.0 which introduces a new Material Design inspired user interface to the simple and stylish email app.
The side navigation menu slides out over the action bar, and a floating action button hovers in the bottom right corner. Excess lines have been stripped from various areas of the app, leaving more whitespace and, well, lots of white in general.
Some non-visual additions have made the changelog as well. You can have signatures appear at the bottom of your message as you're writing, reassurance that they will actually appear when you hit send. You can also edit HTML before replying or forwarding. And when Google Calendar invites come in, you should see those rendered in a way that's more accommodating to your mobile device.

Microsoft offers Dropbox users 100GB of free OneDrive storage for a year
Even though Microsoft's OneDrive rivals Dropbox in the cloud storage industry, the two companies have recently partnered on the Office productivity suite, offering mutual customers a choice of cloud storage options they want to save on. Still that hasn't stopped Microsoft from trying to lure Dropbox users to its own service.
Recently, the software giant has started offering 100GB of free OneDrive storage to Dropbox users for one year. In order to get the storage, you will have to verify that you are a Dropbox user by allowing a document to be uploading to your Dropbox account. Just like Dropbox, OneDrive is a cross platform cloud storage solution which allows users to sync their files between PCs, Phones, Tablets and the Cloud.

When Mailbox for iOS was first released, it quickly grew to become one of the best email apps for mobile. However, there hasn't been much news regarding the app since it was purchased by Dropbox. Now Mailbox is available for Android and can be downloaded directly on your devices through the Google Play Store.

Mailbox is known for its classy interface, which has a clean and easy to understand design. You also get several gestures to help you deal with your mail quickly and easily. A short swipe to the right will archive a message, a long swipe will delete. A short swipe to the left sends a message to the "Snooze" function, where you can set it to bounce the email back into your face at a set time, so you don't forget anything. A long swipe to the left will send a message to a list, so you can organize things that need to be done.
Overall, it's a great app, and in the little bit that we've played with it, it works very well on Android. Of course, there are some potential downsides to the app, first of which is that you have either a Gmail account or an iCloud email account. Also, the app doesn't bother with Gmail labels, so if you use those quite a bit, this likely isn't the app for you.

Dropbox purchases Mailbox email app
Mailbox for iOS arrived a little over a month ago with a somewhat ambitious goal of making a better GMail app that Google. The company was surprisingly able to achieve this is the eyes of its users, with the app being in high demand, as it is being only offered through a reservation system.Now Dropbox has announced that they have purchased Mailbox.
Dropbox will be acquiring both the product and the 13 employees of Mailbox, who will be joining the Dropbox team. Reports suggest that Dropbox could have paid as much as $100 million on this acquisition. The reports also suggest that both Yahoo and Facebook had been interested in purchasing the company, which could be the likely cause of a bidding war which resulted in the final price.
Dropbox plans to keep Mailbox running as an independent app with a goal of eventually sharing their services. For example we will have features like mail attachments being stored on Dropbox.
There is hope that with Dropbox’s acquisition of Mailbox, that we would see faster app updates and a release of an Android version of the app. However there is no news or specifics on the matter at this point.
