OPPO has launched its new A7 Pro series in Malaysia, made up of the A7 Pro 5G and A7 Pro Max 5G. Both are mid-range phones built around unusually large batteries, but the Pro Max is the model that immediately gets your attention.
It has a 10,000mAh battery. That is power-bank territory inside a regular phone, not a rugged brick designed for a worksite. OPPO calls it a Glacier Battery and says it uses silicon-carbon sphere technology to fit that capacity into a relatively slim design.

The A7 Pro Max is all about battery life
The OPPO A7 Pro Max 5G has a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,800 nits of peak brightness. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor.
Its 10,000mAh battery supports 80W SUPERVOOC charging and 27W reverse wired charging, so the phone can also top up another device through USB-C. OPPO says the battery has been tested to retain more than 80 percent of its capacity after six years of simulated use, although, as always, real battery life will depend on how the phone is actually used.
The phone also has IP69K water and dust resistance, a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, a 2MP monochrome sensor, and a 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera with a 100-degree field of view. There is even a configurable light built into the camera module for charging, calls, notifications, and music.
The regular A7 Pro keeps the big-battery idea
The OPPO A7 Pro 5G steps down to a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and an 8,000mAh battery, which is still far larger than what most phones in this price range offer. It supports 45W wired charging and uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 6360 MAX processor.
It is available with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, both paired with 256GB of storage. Camera hardware includes a 50MP rear main camera, a 2MP monochrome sensor, and a 50MP front camera.
The compromise is straightforward: less battery capacity, slower charging, and a smaller display. But an 8,000mAh phone is not exactly going to spend its days looking for an outlet either.
Pricing and availability
The A7 Pro series is available in Malaysia now. The A7 Pro 5G starts at RM1,699 for the 6GB + 256GB version and comes in Surfing Blue, Shine Titanium, and Bloom Pink.
The A7 Pro Max 5G is available in Surfing Blue and Lunar Black with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for RM2,499.
OPPO is also running a first-sale promotion through October 31, while stock lasts, with rebates and accessory bundle offers. There is no confirmed wider international availability yet, so for now this is a Malaysia-focused launch.
