Post updated with full habitat schedule, egg pools, featured attacks, shiny list, bonuses, and Road of Legends daily raid rotations. Wild spawn lineups and Field Research tasks are still TBA and will be added once confirmed.
Pokémon GO turns ten this year, and Niantic is marking the occasion with its biggest GO Fest yet. For the first time ever, the Global event is completely free. No ticket required. Every Trainer on the planet can participate in the full GO Fest experience across both days, including Zeraora Special Research, Mega Mewtwo raids, shiny encounters, and Global Challenges. Here is everything you need to know.
Weekend at a Glance
Habitats rotate every three hours across both days, each bringing different wild spawns, Mega Raids, and 5-Star Raids. The Super Mega Raid runs all day on each respective day. All times are your local time.
Regional: Uxie (Asia-Pacific), Mesprit (Europe, Middle East, Africa, India), Azelf (Americas and Greenland).
Regional: Celesteela (Southern Hemisphere), Kartana (Northern Hemisphere), Stakataka (Eastern Hemisphere), Blacephalon (Western Hemisphere), Buzzwole (Americas and Greenland), Pheromosa (Europe, Middle East, Africa, India), Xurkitree (Asia-Pacific). Nihilego, Guzzlord, and Necrozma appear globally.
Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y
Both Mega forms of Mewtwo are making their Pokémon GO debut at GO Fest 2026 as Super Mega Raids. Every Mewtwo caught from these raids will have at least Mega Level 1 pre-unlocked, with a chance at Level 2 or 3, meaning you can Mega Evolve it immediately into whichever form you defeated without spending any initial Mega Energy. Trainers can also use the newly debuting Mega Energy to Mega Evolve a previously caught Mewtwo.
Special Research: A Thunderous Discovery!
The GO Fest 2026 Special Research is titled GO Fest 2026: A Thunderous Discovery! and leads to an encounter with the Mythical Pokémon Zeraora. It does not expire, so there is no rush to complete it during the weekend itself. Quest steps and rewards are still TBA and will be updated here once confirmed.
Timed Research: Choose Your Mega Mewtwo
A separate branching Timed Research is available during the GO Fest weekend. Pick either the Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y path. Both paths share the same tasks but differ in the Mega Energy you earn and the Mega Mewtwo you unlock. This Timed Research expires after the event, unlike the Zeraora Special Research.
| Path X | Mega Mewtwo X (Psychic / Fighting) — Fast Attack: Counter. Earns Mewtwo Mega Energy X. |
| Path Y | Mega Mewtwo Y (Psychic) — Charged Attack: Psystrike. Earns Mewtwo Mega Energy Y. |
Field Research
Type-themed Field Research tasks rotate with each habitat block throughout both days. Tasks for each habitat are still TBA and will be added here once confirmed by Niantic.
Wild Spawns
Each habitat brings its own wild Pokémon lineup tied to its type theme. The full wild spawn lists for all six habitats are still TBA and will be updated as Niantic confirms them.

How to Prepare
- Clear Pokémon storage — You will be catching fast across both days. Make room before the event starts.
- Stock Pinap Berries and Ultra Balls — Save Pinaps for Zeraora and Mewtwo encounters to maximise Candy, and keep Ultra Balls on hand for tough spawns.
- Coordinate Party Play early — Party Play is active for the full nine event hours. Get your group together before 10:00 a.m. to maximise power boosts in Super Mega Raids.
- Clear your incubators — Load up on Road of Legends eggs before Saturday to take advantage of the GO Pass Deluxe hatch distance bonus.
- Decide your Timed Research path — Know before you start whether you want Mega Mewtwo X or Y so you are not making that decision during event hours.
Wild spawn lineups for all six habitats, Field Research tasks, full raid boss lists, Adventure Effects, Special Backgrounds, and Global Challenge details will be added here as Niantic confirms them. Check back during the event weekend for live updates.
