Google Nexus S receives Android 4.2 Jelly Bean ROM

Several users were left disappointed when Google decided to stop support for the Google Nexus S and the Motorola Xoom when they released . The Nexus S was once the company’s flagship smartphone and has managed to keep up with the latest releases despite its somewhat dates single core processor and 512MB of RAM.

However the developer community doesn't seem quite ready to bid farewell to the handset as knzo, a member of the XDA community has released Android 4.2 for the Nexus S.

The ROM is still in an early stage of development and the developer has still not released a complete list of components which are functional on the ROM. However the progress looks to be positive based on the feedback.

Keep in mind that there will however be some bugs in such an early release, and there have been reports of minor issues with the camera and the new gesture based typing feature.
