Apple releases iOS 12 Public Beta 5

Apple has released iOS 12 Beta 5, alongside the fifth betas for tvOS 12 and macOS 10.14 Mojave. The release brings the same features and fixes included in the developer beta 6. The frequent beta releases are common at this point as Apple works towards finalising their updates in time for their September release.

While beta builds of Apple's operating systems are not recommended for day to day use, anyone who has an extra iPhone or iPad around can easily install and test these releases. Those already participating in the public beta can install the update by heading to Settings > General > Software Update.

With iOS 12 Apple's focus is on performance and speed, and the beta releases have shown that Apple is committed to bringing these improvements to the consumer. As with every beta release Apple brings various bug fixes and improvements with this release.

The upcoming version of tvOS will introduce support for Dolby Atmos for supported devices. The update will also bring new screensavers, a zero-sign-in feature, and brand new functionality to assist developers in building apps for tvOS.

The new version of macOS introduces Dark Mode, the Stacks feature to help keep your Desktop organized, and the new Dynamic Desktop feature that changes automatically during the course of the day.
