The official Facebook app for Windows Phone was updated to version 2.3, bringing a refreshed user interface that brought it more in line with the web version of Facebook. The update added several new features alongside the visual overhaul, making this one of the more significant Facebook for Windows Phone updates at the time.
What's New in Version 2.3
Version 2.3 introduced the ability to view Groups and visit Pages directly from the app. Post privacy controls arrived with this update, letting you choose your audience before posting rather than relying on your default settings. You can now see who liked your posts, filter your news feed, and optionally enable banner photos for a more visual feed experience through the settings menu.
Beyond the new features, the app continued to cover the full Facebook experience on Windows Phone: posting status updates, receiving Live Tile updates, checking your news feed, reviewing upcoming events, checking in to places, managing your inbox, uploading photos, publishing notes, accepting friend requests, and pinning Places and Messages as Start screen tiles.
