A developer over at XDA Developers has cooked the first ever custom firmware for the Windows Phone 7 running HTC HD7. The HD7 features a 4.3 inch touch display, 16GB of storage, a 5 megapixel camera and powered by a 1GHz processor.The custom ROM which comes from XDA forums developer ansar.ath.gr brings an experience similar to the stock ROM, but additionally allows you to upgrade to Windows Phone Mango Beta 2 without any additional steps and allows you to sideload apps.
[NOTE] Installing custom ROMs can void the warranty of your device and has the chance of bricking your device leaving it un-usable. Please do not follow this guide unless you are aware of teh consequences of installing custom ROMs

- Download the custom ROM.
- Follow this guide to install RSPL and HSPL on your device.
- Connect your device to your computer.
- Extract the file you downloading in Step 1,
- Open the folder and launch ROMUpdateUtility.exe
- Follow the on-screen instructions
The ability to sideload apps must be retained. If you are using Mango Beta 2 build 7403 use the following steps
- Launch Update_Mango_XBMODDeployer.xap
- Run XMOD.Files.Deployer and uninstall it.

- Launch Unlock_Mango_XBMODDeployer.xap
- Run XMOD.Files.Deployer and uninstall it.

- Run XMOD.Files.Deployer and uninstall it.
- Install Touch Explorer
- Copy CustClear.provxml from My Documents\ My Ringtoes
- Paste it to \Windows

- Update to Mango Beta 2 Build 7712. Once update is finished disconnect USB cable and enter your SIM PIN.
- - Uninstall connection Setup
- - Select HTC Apps from the Marketplace. Wait for Connection Setup to appear and Install it.
Your Chevron unlock will be retained.
