Motorola Moto G for Verizon receives Android 4.4.4 software update

Motorola is reportedly rolling out the Android 4.4.4 software update for their affordable Motorola Moto G and customizable Motorola Moto X. The updated software brings improved photo results in fluorescent lighting, an adjusted dialer and a built-in copy of Motorola Alert.

The update is being rolled out OTA (over-the-air) and in stages, so it may be awhile before it is available for your device. You can manually check for the updates availability under Settings on your device.

While the jump from 4.4.2 to 4.4.3 is sizeable, but that last bump to 4.4.4 is just a couple of security patches. According to reports the security fix in question is related to CVE-2014-0224, which is an OpenSSL bug allowing a man-in-the-middle attack.
