Firefox 10 now available for download

Mozilla has officially released Firefox 10, following Firefox 9 last month and keeping to the company's established rapid release schedule. Despite the milestone version number, this is a relatively minor release in terms of new features, though there are a few changes worth knowing about.

What's New in Firefox 10

The most immediately noticeable change is that the Forward button now hides itself when it is not needed, keeping the browser chrome cleaner and less cluttered when you have nowhere to go forward to. It is a small but sensible tweak that improves the overall feel of the interface.

Beyond that, Firefox 10 adds support for full-screen web apps, bringing the browser in line with what is needed for a proper full-screen HTML5 experience. Extension management has also been improved, and anti-aliasing for WebGL has been implemented, which benefits anyone using browser-based 3D content or games. You can read the complete list of changes in the full release notes on Mozilla's website.

The update will be applied automatically while you are connected to the internet, or you can trigger it manually through Help and About Firefox in your current browser.
