Just like the Nokia 6.1 Plus, HMD Global also unveiled the Nokia 5.1 Plus for the global market. The latter is a rebranded version of the Nokia X5 and aims to offer an affordable alternative to the 6.1 Plus at a more modest price.

Nokia announces sale of HERE mapping service

Nokia announced on Monday, that it has sold its HERE mapping service to a German auto consortium made up of Audi AG, BMW Group and Daimler AG. The price of the sale came to the equivalent of $3.07 billion USD. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2016, and Nokia expects to book proceeds of $2.75 billion USD. The company will report a profit on the sale.
