Huawei Mate 10 Pro receives Android Pie update in the US

After pushing out the Android 9 Pie update to the Mate 10 Pro in Europe several months ago, Huawei is finally seeding the newest version of Android for customers in the United States.

Several Reddit users along with Android Police are reporting that the official update is currently being pushed OTA (over-the-air) to Mate 10 Pro handsets in the United States. While delayed software updates for a flagship is never a good thing, its good to see it arrive later rather than never.

According to one screenshot shared on Reddit, the update weighs in at over 4GB, so users are advised to ensure that they are connected to a strong Wi-Fi connection and that they have their handsets fully charged before attempting to update.

While there is no official changelog, the update is expected to have all the treats Android 9.0 Pie offers, including its Adaptive Battery and Adaptive Brightness functionality, and EMUI 9.0 enhancements such as its updated user interface, AI optimizations, and a gesture-based navigation.
