Nokia 3.1 Plus receives Android 9 Pie software update

Nokia 3.1 receives Android 9 Pie software update

Amidst releasing a brand new flagship and several new mid to low-end handsets at MWC 2019, HMD hasn't forgotten its promise to update its existing portfolio to the latest version of Android. As such, the company has announced that Android 9 Pie is now on its way to the Nokia 3.1 Plus.

The update should be pushed to your device automatically, and you will receive a notification when it is available for download. You can also try manually checking for the update under Settings. Once updated your Nokia 3.1 Plus will gain features like Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness, intuitive navigation and various notification improvements along with security upgrades offered by Android Pie.

We've recently seen HMD push out Android 9 Pie to the original Nokia 6 and the entry-level Nokia 2.1 along with many others. This leaves only fore more handsets - the Nokia 3.1, Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3, and Nokia 1 to receive the update.

This is an impressive feat, given that most other manufacturers are far behind Nokia when it comes to sending out their software updates. Samsung has yet to update a single one of its mid-range devices, while companies are just starting their Android Pie updates.

The Nokia 3.1 Plus features a 6-inch display, 32GB of storage with microSD expansion, dual (13MP+5MP) rear cameras, an 8MP front camera, a fingerprint scanner, and an octa-core MediaTek processor with up to 3GB of RAM. In the United States it is exclusively offered by Cricket Wireless.
