How to Download and Install iOS 12
Apple is releasing iOS 12 for the iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 5s, iPad mini 2 and newer, and iPod Touch (6th Gen). You can check our list of devices compatible with iOS 12 to make sure you are covered.
You can either download the updated OTA (over-the-air) directly on your device or download the IPSW files below and manually install the update using iTunes

Automatically download and install iOS 12 OTA (over-the-air)
The update will be pushed out to all compatible iOS devices as an OTA update. Which means you will receive a notification when the update is available for your device.
Step 1) Go to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone or iPad.
Step 2) Wait for the iOS 12 OTA update notification to show up.
Step 3) When you see the notification, click Download and Install to begin installing it.
Manually download and install iOS 12 using iTunes
While the automatic method of installing iOS 12 is much easier, it is recommended that advanced users perform a clean installation of major releases for the best outcome.
In order to do so, you will have to download the iOS 12.0 IPSW file and manually flash it to your device using iTunes. You can download the relevant iPSW files using the following links:
Once you have download the relevant iOS 12.0 iPSW file, follow the steps below to manually install the iPSW file on your iPhone or iPad.
Step 1) Download and install the latest version of iTunes on your Windows or Mac.
Step 2) On your device, go to Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone and make sure you switch to Off in order to disable this feature.
Step 3) Connect your device to your PC or Mac using the USB cable. iTunes should automatically launch when you do. If it doesn't launch it manually. On iTunes, make sure your connected device is selected.
Step 4) Perform a backup on your device on your computer.
Step 5) On your computer, Hold down the Alt key (on Mac) or the Shift key (on Windows) and click on the 'Restore iPhone' button. You will now be able to manually select the IPSW file you downloaded for your device.
Step 6) Select the iPSW file and wait for iTunes to manually restore the iOS 12 IPSW file to your iOS device.
Step 7) Once completed you will have a clean version of iOS 12 installed on your iPhone or iPad. You can now choose to restore a backup.
