Apple discounts iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 while discontinuing iPhone X, iPhone 6s and iPhone SE

With the unveiling of the new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR, Apple has redefined its iPhone lineup by discontinuing some of its older products while discounting others. The iPhone 7 is now the entry level offering, and customers can go as high as the iPhone XS Max with 512GB.

For their 2018 iPhone lineup, Apple has also discontinued iPhone X, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and, of course, the 4-inch iPhone SE, while reducing the price of the iPhone 7, 8, and 8 Plus.

With the new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR succeeding last year's iPhone X, Apple has comfortably decided it no longer needs to be a part of its lineup. While Apple wants customers to migrate away from older hardware like the iPhone 6S and iPhone SE even though they still support iOS 12.

The iPhone 7 is now Apple's entry level iPhone, priced at $449 while the iPhone 7 Plus will cost you $569. Last year's iPhone 8 is priced at $599 while the iPhone 8 Plus will cost $699. Apple would prefer that customers pick up their 'cheaper' iPhone XR, and step into the modern gesture based navigation and FaceID for authentication.
