After running a beta version of the update in South Korea, the LG G6 is started receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo software update in other regions. While uncommon, Verizon was early to rollout the update for handsets on their network last week. Now it looks like various regions across Europe are seeing the update for their variants of the LG G6.
Portugal, Romania, and Latvia are among the first European countries to receive the update. While not confirmed other European countries are bound to be receiving the update on their unlocked G6 smartphones.
Those who own handsets that are locked to carriers will likely have to wait a little longer for the update to go through the usual regulatory channels. However things may work out differently based on how Verizon handled the update on their network.
The update is expected to bring several of the AI features that debuted on the LG V30s ThinQ, along with other features and improvements, including the April security patch.
The LG G6 is an Android smartphone featuring a 5.7 inch display, 32GB of internal storage, a (13MP+13MP) dual camera setup, a secondary camera for video calls and is powered by a Snapdragon 821 processor with 4GB of RAM.
