The new Amazon Kindle Oasis is updated version of the company's advanced e-ink reader, which is slightly larger and more advanced than its predecessor. It has a metal chassis and it's completely waterproof (IPX8 rating).
According to Amazon, the new Kindle Oasis features a 7-inch display with a 300 ppi pixel density, which should translate to 30% more words per page. While the original Kindle Oasis promises two weeks of power, the new model offers six weeks of power on battery.
The Kindle Oasis also includes Audible integration will allow users to seamlessly switch from a textual version of a book to its audio counterpart, without having to open the Kindle or Audible mobile apps.
The Kindle Oasis is available in an 8GB Wi-Fi variant for $280, or the 32GB model with free cellular connectivity for $350. Customers can pre-order the new Amazon Kindle Oasis starting today and it will be shipped out to you on October 31.
