Google News & Weather for Android updated with breaking news notifications

Google News & Weather for Android updated with breaking news notificationsThe Google News & Weather for Android app has been updated to version 2.3 with the option of receiving notification for breaking news stories. When you first view the app after the update, you will be asked whether you want to receive these notifications. It is unclear what kind of breaking news warrants a notification, but if you are a news junkie, you should get hardcore information before others do.

A new category called "Suggested For You" recommends certain stories based on your historic search requests. It might also look at your Google Now card settings and you can also make adjustments if certain topics that keep appearing are not of interest to you. Finally, a settings menu has been added so that users can make some changes to the app.
