According to a recent report, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be receiving the updated version of TouchWiz UI found on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge when it receives the Android 5.1 update.
Samsung will first be pushing out the Android 5.1 update for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge, and even that is scheduled to roll out only in the second half of this year.
The new version of TouchWiz will be much lighter and faster, as Samsung has greatly trimmed it down. In fact, Samsung says that the new UI is 40% lighter than the prior version. According to a source who has knowledge of Samsung's plans, the company was inspired more by its own Tizen OS than by Android when developing the latest TouchWiz build.
Still the new version of TouchWiz remains bright and colorful, retaining the cartoonish nature in its icons, which many dislike. Overall, the new TouchWiz is bound to be considered a big step in the right direction. The good news for Galaxy Note 4 owners is that they will get to experience it once their device receives the Android 5.1 update later this year.
