Motorola Moto E receives Android 5.0.2 soak test

Motorola Moto EThe Motorola Moto E users will soon get their chance and Android 5.0 Lollipop, as the manufacturer has reportedly started a soak test for Android 5.0.2 on the device. Given that the soak test is underway, it likely won't be long for the official update to start rolling out to users.

Motorola uses these Soak Tests to send out a new software update to a limited number of handsets so that it can test a new OS build without putting a large number of handsets at risk.

To be eligible for a Soak Test, you must be a member of the Motorola Feedback Network and promise to keep the results of the test confidential. If everything is okay after a couple of weeks of testing, Motorola will release the update to the remaining Moto E users in the region. This should take place before the end of this month.

While Lollipop is headed to the Moto E, owners of the original Motorola Moto X are still waiting for their share of Android Lollipop. In a recent tweet, the Motorola Support team revealed that the former flagship was facing issues on the newest version of Android because of its customized Snapdragon S4 Pro chip. Once the engineers are able to bypass the issues with the chip, the Moto X will also be updated to Lollipop.
