Lenovo YOGA Tablet 2 Pro officially announced with QHD display, Pico projector and Intel processor for $500

Lenovo YOGA Tablet 2 Pro

The Lenovo YOGA Tablet 2 Pro was officially announced today with a decent set of specifications which include a QHD display and an in-built Pico projector. While manufacturers keep trying to outdo one another with a unique addition, lets see if Lenovo has the right formula for success.

The highlight of this tablet is clearly its built-in Pico projector - a 4-50 Lumen unit that beams videos and presentation with a WVGA (854 x 480) resolution on the nearest flat surface. It also comes with a 13.3 inch Quad-HD display, 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8MP rear camera with autofocus, a 1.6MP HD front camera, and a 1.86GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3745 Processor with 2GB of RAM.

You also get two front facing large-chamber speakers capable of 1.5W output each, along with a 5W JBL subwoofer. The setup is clearly meant as a portable home cinema, but its battery which usually can give you as much as 15 hours with a single charge will only run through around three hours when you are beaming something through the projector.

The YOGA Tablet 2 Pro's design stands out with extreme slimness - only 0.14 inches (3.7mm), and little weight - 34 oz (970 g). There's a large kickstand that provides greater stability and has a release button for easier opening. In addition to the three usage modes - Hold, Tilt, and Stand, we know from previous YOGA devices, this one has a new mode - Hang. Lenovo's custom software senses which mode you are using the tablet in, and automatically optimizes the display levels, touch-screen keyboard, and Dolby Audio mode for best usage.

As you may know, Lenovo recently hired actor and technology enthusiast, Ashton Kutcher as a product engineer to help boost their brand recognition. It looks like the partnership will be evident on the YOGA Tablet 2 Pro, as Lenovo has included a multimedia product walkthrough that includes "a 4D image of Ashton Kutcher to guide users through all of the device's cool features."

The Lenovo YOGA Tablet 2 Pro will be available by the end of October through the company's online store and will be priced at $500 onwards.
