Visually you will notice that Hangouts has receiving an updated tabbed user interface and a brighter shade of green. The tabs let you quickly switch between contacts, messages and your dialer (if you have Hangouts Dialer) installed. It's clear the Hangouts apps is now ready for the eventual release of the Android L update in fall with its material design.

Google Voice integration makes its presence known within the app's settings. If you meander over, you will come across the option to ring Hangouts for incoming calls to your Google Voice number.

With the integration of Hangouts Dialer, the app will natively gain voice calling. a new tab will appear in Hangouts to allow you to make calls. Most users will be able to use it for free calls to the US and Canada and discounted rates on other international calls; but, if you have Google Voice, it can turn Hangouts into a complete VoIP calling solution after you turn on the option to receive calls in Hangouts.

The update is still in the stage of rolling out, so if it is not available for your device, consider heading to the  source link below and manually download and install the APK file.
