Amazon Fire Phone

The is receiving a software update which takes the underlying Fire OS to version 3.5.1 (111009920) and brings several enhancements to the device including improved battery life. It is common for new devices to receive quick updates soon after their market launch, likely based on feedback received from customers.

Amazon claims that the new software brings dozens of system updates to make power consumption more efficient. Additionally the changelog suggests that video sharing should also be improved, and the email client will allow messages to be deleted from the homescreen.

Your favorite apps can be pinned to the carousel, and folders for apps or content can be created directly on the app grid. Double-pressing the home button brings up a multi-tasking function now, allowing a "quick switch" between apps or shutting down apps you no longer want running. Lenticular photos collages have been enhanced too. Now, you will be able to use this function with up to 11 photos instead of 3.

Amazon Fire Phone customers will be able to download the update over-the-air, or by manually downloading the update file and installing it through your computer using a USB cable. Feel free to leave us a comment if you come across any other changes on your Fire Phone.
