Motorola has announced the upcoming  software update for the Motorola Droid RAZR and the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX. The update will carry version 98.72.16.XT912.Verizon.en.US and include all the improvements and enhancements Android 4.1.2 has to offer. This includes features like Google Now, Project Butter, voice search, and expandable notifications.

MOTOCAST® 2.0MOTOCAST is no longer integrated into MyMusic, Files, and Gallery, and is a stand alone app on the device. It has been enhanced with an easy to understand interface, faster speeds, higher performance and ability to support large content libraries. Will need to re-log into the app using your MOTOCAST ID to continue remote access.
My GalleryThe My Gallery app has been removed and replaced with a standard Google Gallery app for viewing photos and videos.
My MusicThe My Music app has been removed and replaced with Google Play Music app. Specific setup information can be found in the Android PLAY store.

Make sure that your battery is fully charged and that you are connected to your Wi-Fi connected. When the update is available for your device you will receive a notification of its availability. Once you receive the notification
  • Select "Download".
  • After the software is downloaded, select "Install now".
  • After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
If you haven't receive the notification you can check for the update manually on your device by heading over to Settings > About Phone > System Updates and selecting download. After the download is complete you can select Install and have the update installed to your device.
