Facebook released version 4.0 of its iOS app, and the headline addition was long-awaited native iPad support. What Facebook for iPad Offered
Photos were presented in full high resolution, easy to flip through like a real photo album. Navigation relied on tapping, sliding, and pinching to move between screens, making it feel natural on a touchscreen of that size. The Nearby map let you see what friends were up to in your area, and games and Facebook apps were accessible directly from the app wherever you were.
One of the more thoughtful additions was the ability to share a photo, update your status, or send a message without leaving the News Feed, keeping your place in the feed while you interacted with it. You could also zoom in on friends' photos, updates, and stories for a closer look without navigating away.
