Apple has released the final version of Mac OS X 10.10.4 Yosemite, which brings a few new features along with several bug fixes and performance improvements. The watchOS 2 beta comes as a small download as it is a configuration profile that needs to be installed on the iPhone that the Apple Watch is paired with. This can be done either on-device or by downloading it to a Mac and then emailing it over to the iPhone in question, Apple notes.

While Apple will have a separate program for public testing which will be available in July, you will have to be a registered and enrolled member of Apple Developer Program (costs $99 per year) in order to download the first beta.

El Capitan does not offer a major update over OS X Yosemite. Instead it builds on the desktop platforms features, further strengthening its core set of features. Despite the lack of substantial features, the enhancements in El Capitan make the update rather rewarding.

The first time you open the app after it updates, you will be asked to type in your password when you click to open one of the sections protected by Touch ID.
