VLC for Windows Phone updated (1.2.0) with partial hardware decoding and more


VLC for Windows Phone updated (1.2.0)The VideoLAN team has recently pushed out a new public update to its beta version of VLC Media Player for Windows Phone. The update brings version 1.2.0 along with numerous improvements and initial support for hardware acceleration for video decoding to the app. VLC is  a cross platform media player, which supports multiple video formats.

VLC Media Player for Windows Phone version 1.2.0 has the following new features and improvements:
  • Support for hardware acceleration for video decoding
  • Numerous improvements
As you may know, VLC media player is now a universal Windows app, sharing around 80% of their XAML code and  over 95% of the C# code between the Windows Phone and Windows versions.
