HP unveils new lineup of affordable Windows tablets and laptops

HP has just unveiled a new series of affordable Windows 8.1 devices, which include two HP Stream notebooks and two HP Stream tablets. These new devices live up to Microsoft's promise to brings affordable Windows devices to the market.

The new Windows 8.1 tablets will be named the HP Stream 7 and the HP Stream 8. Other than the 7 inch and 8 inch display sizes, both have identical specs including 32GB of internal storage, two cameras, Bluetooth 4.0 support and quad-core Intel Atom Z3735G processors with 1GB of RAM.

Additionally you get a 1-year subscription of Microsoft Office 365 Personal which includes 1TB of OneDrive online storage and 60 minutes of Skype each month. The Stream 8 comes with an optional 200MB of free 4G data each month with no annual contract for the life of the device.

The HP Stream 7 is the more affordable of the two priced at just $99, while the HP Stream 8 will cost you $149.99. Both tablets will go on sale in November.

The HP Stream notebooks are available in a 11.6 inch and 13.3 inch form factor. Both feature innovative fanless designs, 32GB of internal eMMC flash storage and are powered by quad-core Intel Celeron processors. The HP Stream 11.6-inch model is expected to be available starting at $199.99 (US) and the HP Stream 13.3-inch model is expected to be available starting at $229.99 (US) in November.

These laptops will be available in Magenta and Horizon Blue colors. Additionally they will also include a 1-year subscription of Microsoft Office 365 Personal which includes 1TB of OneDrive online storage. Oh and they also come with a $25 gift card in the box to uses to buy apps or games from the Windows Store.
