Nokia X available for pre-order in China, arrives on March 24

The Nokia X smartphone based on a forked version of Android is now available for pre-order in China through online retailer Jingdong for 599 Yuan (approx $100).

The Nokia X was announced last month at the Mobile World Congress 2014 at Barcelona. The handset is an entry level smartphone, which a 4 inch touch display, 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 3 megapixel rear camera, a 1500 mAh battery, optional dual-SIM capability, and a 1GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM.
The Nokia X runs highly customised version of  (AOSP v4.1.2) with tile-based user interface and redesigned Fastlane. Nokia X come with Here Maps, with offline maps and free turn-by-turn navigation, Nokia MixRadio for free music streaming and downloadable playlists and free cloud storage from Microsoft OneDrive.
According to LiveSide, the retailer has already received around 270,000 pre-orders for the Nokia X, though customers will be able to pay for it only on March 24, and they will receive their units only afterwards. First 10,000 buyers will get a free package of Chinese service subscriptions and gift cards. Nokia China has also partnered with the Android UI maker Lewa to provide custom Android launcher to Chinese users.
